    Jeremy Adelman is the Henry Charles Lea Professor Emeritus of History at Princeton University and the Director of the Global History Lab at the University of Cambridge, which is based at the Center for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and the Humanities (CRASSH). Author and editor of over a dozen books, his most recent include Worlds Together, Worlds Apart: A History of Humankind from the Beginning to the Present (W. W. Norton, 6th edition 2021), the acclaimed global life-history Worldly Philosopher: The Odyssey of Albert O. Hirschman (Princeton University Press, 2013), and edited with Gyan Prakash, Inventing the Third World: The Search for Freedom in the Cold War Global South (Bloomsbury, 2022).  He has two books coming out in 2024:  Earth Hunger: Global Integration and the Need for Strangers (Princeton University Press) and edited with Andreas Eckert, A World of Narratives: Nations, Empires, and Other World Products (Bloomsbury).  His Global History Lab is committed to teaching world history in global emergencies.  It has enrolled over 200,000 students since it began in 2012, partnering with institutions in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe to extend learning opportunities to refugees and to fractured communities.  Adelman is conducting research on a global history of the civil war in El Salvador (1970s-1990s) and a history of human security.
