We are thrilled to share that Peter MacLeod, 2025 Mentor of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, is launching his new book Democracy’s Second Act: Why Politics Needs the Public, co-authored with Richard Johnson.
This work explores the future of democracy and offers hope for those concerned about polarization and frustration with politics. The book argues that while the first act of democracy—anchored in voting rights and representative government—achieved extraordinary gains, the story isn’t over. A quiet democratic revolution is already underway, and this book shows us where to find it.
