Benjamin Gagnon Chainey, a 2017 Scholar of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, has been appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Literature, Theatre and Film at Université Laval.
A researcher, author and professor, Benjamin Gagnon Chainey’s work focuses in particular on literary creation, writing on the body, illness and care, as well as the health humanities.
His interdisciplinary background, spanning literature, research and healthcare, informs work that explores the connections between embodied experience, care and creative practice.
This appointment marks a new chapter in his academic career, which he is now pursuing within Université Laval’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
