Michelle is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria. She completed her PhD in Criminology at Simon Fraser University.

Michelle is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria, and Director of the Access to Justice Centre for Excellence. Her teaching and research focuses on criminal law, administrative law, and the law of evidence.  Michelle previously practiced law as a partner in the Litigation Department of McCarthy Tetrault LLP.  Her practice was comprised of complex regulatory proceedings, corporate malfeasance, and criminal litigation.  Michelle holds graduate degrees in law and criminology, including an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University.
