    Antonia Maioni is Professor at the Institute for Health and Social Policy in the School of Population and Global Health at McGill University, and an Associate Member in the Department of Political Science and the Desautels Faculty of Management. She is currently on sabbatical at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

    Professor Maioni previously served as McGill’s Dean of Arts (2016-2021), Associate Vice-Principal for Research and International Relations (2014-16) and Director of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada (2001-2011).

    Her research focusses on public policy, health and social policy, Quebec, Canadian and comparative politics, with funding from the SSHRC, CIHR, the Canada-US Fulbright Foundation, the Max Bell Foundation, and Universities Canada.

    Professor Maioni has served as President of the Canadian Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences, as a member of the Board of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, as well as in numerous academic and volunteer organizations. She has extensive media experience as a frequent commentator on politics and public policy issues, including regular columns in Canadian newspapers political analysis for broadcast news.

    Professor Maioni holds a B.A. from Université Laval, an M.A. from Carleton University's Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

    A third-generation Quebecker and Canadian, she lives in Montreal with her spouse, Pierre Martin, and her three sons Louis Claudio, Charles Ettore & Jacques Alessandro.
