Madison Dabbs-Petty was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She is currently in a PhD in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta, where she also completed her Masters. Madison's research interests centre on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC health and intersectionality.

For her doctoral project, she aims to conduct a needs assessment of rural LGBTQ+ health in Canada by engaging providers and community members. Madison is fluent in English, French, and Italian, and likes to watch and sing along to dubbed Disney movies to keep up her comprehension! She volunteers for the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton as well as for her area's student government.

Madison is a lover of fine arts and sings, arranges harmonies, and writes fiction in her spare time. She is also a member of a sword fighting club. Madison is looking forward to broaden her perspective through connecting with other Scholars, hone her advocacy and leadership skills, and improve health equity for LGBTQ+ Canadians through her research project.
