Andreae Callanan is a poet, critic, and community organizer from St. John’s, Newfoundland. Her doctoral research examines the connections between poetry, cultural identity, and social responsibility.
Andreae is a recipient of Memorial University’s F.A. Aldrich Doctoral Fellowship. Her creative writing and critical essays have earned her numerous awards. She serves as an assistant editor at Riddle Fence and as an editorial contributor at Canadian Notes & Queries. Her poetry, reviews, and essays have been published widely in Canada and abroad. Andreae teaches creative writing at Memorial University and is an enthusiastic supporter of emerging literary voices. The Debt, a collection of her poems based on her master’s thesis, was published in the fall of 2020.
