International Women’s Day 2021

On International Women’s Day, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation honours the inspiring determination and courage of women in our community who are working to advance equality and equity throughout Canadian society and across the world.

In her best-selling book, Fearless: Girls with Dreams, Women with Vision, 2020 Foundation Mentor Janice McDonald shares the stories of more than 100 leaders who have broken down barriers in the fields of business, arts and culture, politics and more.

From childhood dreamers to fearless leaders, the book charts the life journeys of remarkable women through their own words, as they share stories about their youth, their passions, and the challenges they faced and overcame.

“The lives featured in this book represent the many journeys women can take to find their passion, create change, and make a monumental impact on the world around them. Some were born to leap into the spotlight, others discovered a quiet strength along the way; women who dared, who challenged convention, who found connection, or who braved it alone - each has a powerful lesson to tell about a girl who once dreamed of what she might accomplish.”
