The Public Interaction Program (PIP) fosters the dynamic development of the Foundation's community, where members contribute through their work to evidence-based policy development and positive social change.
PIP
Main Roles of the Program
1. Incubator: to promote ties between Scholars, Fellows and Mentors to create a dynamic community that helps each member participate in public policy debates and translate their research or other work into social impact.

2. Amplifier: to equip members of the Foundation's community with the skills, platforms and opportunities necessary to foster the public impact of their research or other work.

3. Disseminator: to organize or participate in public policy discussions that bring together members of the Foundation's community with stakeholders from civil society, the private sector and governments to enrich collaboration and foster evidence-based discourse.

High-impact Community Events
The Foundation organizes regular events:

- Public Policy Conference: This biannual invitational event aims to connect the Foundation with the Canadian public, foster evidence-based discussion around a topical public policy issue, and disseminate research.

- Summer School: This gathering establishes close relationships among active members of the community, trains and reinforces skills for Fellows provided by Fellows, mentors and other specialists, welcomes new Fellows, and celebrates Fellows completing their term.

- P.E. Trudeau Conversations: Fellows are invited to give a public talk at the end of their term. The purpose of these conversations is to establish links between the Foundation and the Canadian public, to emphasize the importance of social sciences and humanities research for public policy development, and to disseminate the research undertaken by Fellows during their term.

- Mentors-Scholars Meeting: This annual meeting formally introduces Scholars to Mentors and vice versa, encourages the relationship-building between Scholars and Mentors, and fosters training and skills-building for Scholars provided by Mentors.

Adhoc events run by members of the community also take place with the support of the Foundation.

In addition, the Foundation organizes events in partnership with other organizations for the benefit of the community.
