    Dr. Ginger Gibson is a Founding Director of the Firelight Group, an Indigenous-owned research services firm that works exclusively for Indigenous communities. Her research touches on social, cultural and economic implications of the extractive industries. Dr. Gibson has mediated many complex conflicts, such as in the Ring of Fire, resource development issues across the north, mining and land use conflicts in Alaska, and in northern Alberta, among others. She has dedicated her career to service and research with communities. She serves on many boards across the country and is co-author of The Community Toolkit for Negotiation of Impact and Benefit Agreements. She completed a PhD in Mining Engineering at the University of British Columbia. Ginger was a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholar in 2003.
