    Dr. Marie Battiste is Full Professor in the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan. A Mi'kmaq from the Potlotek First Nation, she has pursued research advancing Indigenous education, social justice and institutional change in the decolonization of education, in particular in teacher education and curriculum, and postcolonial educational approaches that recognize and affirm the political and cultural diversity of Canada. She holds graduate degrees from Harvard and Stanford universities and a teacher certificate from the University of Maine Farmington. She has widely published books, journals, chapters, and reports, and is a widely acclaimed international speaker on Indigenous and decolonizing education.
