Perspectives from 2010: Governance for Sustainable Community Development Conference

Royal Roads University, January 26-28, 2007.

Capping off a week when the Canadian government laid out its third policy aimed at curbing the sustainability crisis of climate change, a group of leading sustainability scholars with the Trudeau Foundation, academics from across Canada and community leaders engaged in the issue gathered at Royal Roads University to discuss the most pressing issue of the 21st Century: Governance for Sustainable Community Development.

The two-day gathering started Friday, Jan. 26 and included a community forum on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. aimed at engaging the social and intellectual capital in the local community and RRU learners who represent regions from across Canada and around the world.

During the event, Trudeau Scholars Kate Hennessy, Mike Ananny, and Jason Luckerhoff met with the various participants and produced short video clip interviews that summarize the important issues of the conference. We are glad to make these videos available here, and hope they will encourage you to respond and comment on their content on our online forum.
