Leah Levac is a Ph.D. candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of New Brunswick. She is a Trudeau Scholar and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Scholar. Her work focuses on leadership and citizenship education as intervention strategies for enabling marginalized female adolescents to advocate for their own health, and for changes to the social and structural conditions that perpetuate poor health. She has worked with various community organizations that provide emergency and transitional housing for youth, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Youth in Transition – Chrysalis House, a residence for young women in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
