    Karen Wilkie holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Environmental Design (Environmental Science) from the University of Calgary. Since joining the Canada West Foundation in January 2004, she has worked on a variety of public policy projects including urban natural capital, sustainable residential development, water management, environmental incentives, and wellness incentives. Karen is currently working on the Core Challenges Initiative, which examines the street level social problems in western Canada's large urban centres and how to address them. Karen's research interests include urban policy with a focus on environmental and social sustainability, land and water policy, and municipal governance.
