Maya Jegen is a professor in the Department of Political Science at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She earned her Ph.D. in political science at Geneva University and taught at Geneva University and the University of Bern. She was also a guest researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. Her work has been published in the Journal of Public Policy, the European Journal of Political Research, Energy Policy and the Revue suisse de science politique. Maya Jegen also worked in public administration as an evaluation manager at the Office fédéral de l’énergie in Switzerland. In Canada, she has worked as an analyst for an interest group involved in electricity issues and as a program manager for a foundation. Her area of research interest concerns sustainable development, especially as it relates to energy issues and network analysis. She sits on a panel of experts established by the Académie suisse des sciences humaines et sociales to evaluate energy prospects from 2035 to 2050.
