David R. Boyd is an environmental lawyer, author, and Trudeau Scholar at the University of British Columbia, where his research focuses on the right to live in a healthy environment. He is also an adjunct professor with Simon Fraser University's graduate Resource and Environmental Management. He recently spent a year as a special advisor on sustainability to the federal Privy Council Office and is a former Executive Director of the Sierra Legal Defence Fund, Canada's leading public interest environmental law organization. David Boyd has argued cases at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
David Boyd has written extensively on environmental, aboriginal, and global sustainability issues, including Unnatural Law: Rethinking Canadian Environmental Law and Policy, Sustainability Within a Generation: A New Vision for Canada, Canada vs. The OECD: An Environmental Comparison, and many op-eds for the Globe and Mail and other papers.
