    Profile

My Trudeau scholarship represented an important acknowledgement of humanities based, justice-oriented research, giving such research high public profile. The additional financial support on top of my Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council award as well as the annual travel funding provided me with important access to more time and resources, which were invaluable in undertaking a more ambitious and challenging program of research. The scholarship thus gave important profile to my research while providing the financial ability to pursue my research with greater access to research related sites as well as to further develop my research ideas through numerous local, national, and international public presentations. Participating in Trudeau community events every year provided a lively context in which to discuss and debate key societal issues with a diverse range of scholars and many national and international public figures, creating a sense of interdisciplinary and intergenerational community. I appreciated and enjoyed these rich opportunities for connection and exchange.
