10th Annual Trudeau Foundation Conference
Every year, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation organizes a major conference on a public issue of relevance to the future of Canada. Founded on the principle that the best ideas emerge when individuals from different generations, different cultures and different disciplines focus on a problem together, the conference is committed to providing an open forum for the discussion of public issues by voices of all ages and backgrounds – from the arts and sciences to government, industry, academia, and civil society.
Xth Annual Trudeau Foundation Conference
For the tenth or the first time, join a stimulating group of thinkers, scholars, policymakers, and engaged citizens from across Canada and abroad at this flagship event designed to foster the generation and exchange of knowledge on public issues.
In Montréal from 21 to 23 November 2013, the 10th Annual Trudeau Foundation Conference will be the venue for a national conversation on the great concerns of our time centered on the Foundation's four domains of interest – domains that we consider critical to promoting and protecting democracy in the 21st century: international relations, the environment, human rights, and responsible citizenship.
With around 300 participants on average, the annual conference is the Foundation’s largest and most public event. It takes place over three days and features keynote addresses, panels, and exhanges.
Exceptionally this year, in advance of the annual conference, the Foundation will commission four national opinion polls in collaboration with Montreal’s four largest universities. Universities contribute their leading-edge expertise to identifying issues that are worth consulting Canadians for. Concordia University will provide expertise on responsible citizenship, Université de Montréal on Canada in the world, Université du Québec à Montréal on people in their natural environment, and McGill University on human rights and dignity. The polls' findings will be announced in the days preceding the conference.
