Emily Jensen

Program Officer, Events and Leadership Programs

As Program Officer, Events and Leadership Programs, Emily is responsible for managing our annual scholarship competition, and acts as the liaison between the Foundation and its vibrant community of scholars. She is responsible for engaging our network of accomplished scholars and facilitating active membership in the Foundation community.

Emily’s professional passion lies in social policy. She has taken on roles in federal and provincial politics, the non-profit sector, and in research centres both in Canada and abroad. These diverse roles have allowed her to gain a deep understanding of the research-to-policy process from both an academic perspective, as a research assistant at the McGill Institute for Health and Social Policy examining the rights of transgender people internationally and at the European Centre for Minority Issues in Germany researching the rights of national minorities in Europe; and, from a government perspective, working in the Canadian Parliament and at the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island. Emily has prior experience at the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation as research assistant, taking on responsibilities in fund development, program evaluation, communications, and program delivery.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts (hons.) in political science from McGill University.
