With the election of Donald Trump for US president, OpenCanada.org asked Canadian diplomats to name their one hope for Trump’s approach to foreign policy. 2015 Trudeau mentor Jillian Stirk hopes that President-elect Trump will surprise us all and use his plain talk to help his supporters come to terms with the way the world has changed and to see a future for themselves that is not defined by hate and distrust.
Retired after 30 years of service in the foreign service, she brings strategic expertise in foreign policy and multilateral negotiations.
