2008 Trudeau scholar Irvin Studin is editor-in-chief of Global Brief magazine and president of the Institute for 21st Century Questions, a thinktank. During a conference at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Studin suggested a few possibilities for the world in the era of American president Donald Trump: an attack on US soil, Trump’s destitution, and changing relations between the USA with China and the USA with Russia. Studin also suggested that Canada would benefit from stepping back and starting a strategic and independent reflection on its future: “We don’t know how to think by ourselves, because we never had to do it” he said.
