2009 Trudeau scholar Magaly Brodeur will be one of four recipients of a "Star Researcher" award given by the It deserves to be recognized! (Ça mérite d’être reconnu!) competition. Magaly will receive her prize at a gala evening to be held at Montreal’s Palais des congrès on 15 November 2012. This evening will be the closing function of the event Rendez-vous du Savoir.

The Star Researcher award highlights the talent and originality of young intellectuals and the importance of research for our society. Each recipient receives a plaque as well as a scholarship of $ 1500 provided by Tourism Montreal.

Magaly will be awarded a prize in the category  of social sciences, humanities, arts and letters. The organization has selected Magaly because of the excellence of her work in public, governmental, and business ethics, work which seeks to guide public policy on issues such as the management of products that pose health risks. Magaly is also being recognized for her interdisciplinary work, which has attracted the interest of various international organizations.
