2010 scholar Amanda Clarke, Assistant Professor at Carleton University’s School of Public Policy & Administration, has been awarded an Insight Development Grant from the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

Her project entitled Civic Technologies in North American Municipalities: Reviving New Public Management or Realizing Network Governance?, will gather empirical information that is currently lacking on the effectiveness of civic technologies.

“Municipalities are embracing civic technologies as the new way to improve public services and solve social problems, but they do so in the absence of empirical evidence”, says Professor Amanda Clarke.
