The Council of Canadian Academies is pleased to announce the appointment of 2011 Trudeau Mentor Margaret Bloodworth, C.M., as Chair of its Board of Governors.

Margaret Bloodworth is a former senior public servant who was most recently Associate Secretary to the Cabinet and National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister. Prior to that she was the first Deputy Minister of Public Safety, Deputy Minister of Defence and Deputy Minister of Transport.

She is also a Member of the Order of Canada and she has received many prizes including the Public Service of Canada Outstanding Achievement Award and the Vanier Medal of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada.
