    It is with great sadness that we learned that Mr. Roy L. Heenan passed away on Friday after a lengthy illness. Roy was the first chairman of the Board of Directors of The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation (2001-2012) and was one of the driving forces behind the creation of our organization. He remained a director, a member, and the chairman emeritus of the Foundation until his death.

Gagnon is the new chairholder of the Chaire d’études du Québec contemporain at Université Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle for the current academic year. The Chair’s program of work will illuminate the relationship between culture, literature and politics in Quebec.

    Two members of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation were appointed members of the Order of Canada on 30 December 2016. This honour recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Included among the 100 recipients announced by the Governor General of Canada, are:
