28 May 2013

On 28 May 2013, Prof. Ann Dale, 2004 Trudeau Fellow, was awarded this year's Molson Prize for the Social Sciences by the Canada Council for the Arts. She was recognized for her work in advancing sustainable communities across Canada. Prof. Dale is the Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Community Development at Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C.

Two Canada Council Molson Prizes, worth $50,000 each, are awarded every year to distinguished Canadians, one in the arts and the other in the social sciences and humanities. According to Robert Sirman, Canada Council Director and CEO, “this year’s Canada Council Molson Prize winners offer us new narratives on culture, environment and sense of community… and they illustrate how Canadian artists and social scientists expand our capacity to live fuller and more sustainable lives.”
