On 9 September 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at the Université de Montréal, 2008 Trudeau Mentor Robert Fowler will talk about the 130 days he was held hostage by the terrorist group Al Qaeda in Niger in 2008-2009. It is a large annual conference that marks the start of a new term for the Centre for International Studies and Research at the Université de Montréal (CERIUM). Mr. Fowler will also discuss of the political situation in African countries and the role that Canada could play.

Besides, Mr Fowler gave an interview at Paul Arcand's program at 98.5 FM this morning. He will give another interview for 24 heures en 60 minutes, at RDI, tonight.

On 11 September 2013, Mr Fowler will launch the French version of his book A Season in Hell – My 130 days in the Sahara with Al Qaeda.
