University of Alberta

2011 Trudeau scholar Danielle Peers is co-organizing an event entitled “(Dis)Ability?: Queer and Feminist Perspectives”, which will take place on 18-19 October 2012, at the University of Alberta. A group of scholars will lead people in re-imagining relationships between disability, feminism, queerness, normativity, race, gender and social justice: in terms of the academic possibilities, the social justice opportunities, the artistic imaginaries, and the lived realities. All the details are available online on a Facebook page dedicated to the conference.

A special evening of irreverent art is also organized on 18 October 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This event is also supported by 2010 Trudeau fellow Steven Loft.
