On 14 November, 2015 Trudeau fellow Cleo Paskal will give an Asia Pacific Foundation Canada Talk on the rising global importance of the Pacific islands. The talk will explain how their geostrategic location between the Americas and Asia, extensive global footprint (one-sixth of the earth's surface), pivotal collective voting power within international forum and the growing importance to China's strategic positioning have contributed to the Pacific Island Forum’s global significance. The event is open to the public and will take place Monday, November 14, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm at the Asia Pacific Foundation in Vancouver, BC.
